Port Houston (legally the Harris County Houston Ship Channel Navigation District, d/b/a the Port of Houston Authority) is the port authority that owns, manages, and operates eight public terminals along the 52-mile Houston Ship Channel, including the Bayport and Barbours Cut container terminals. It is the #1 US port in waterborne tonnage, handling container, breakbulk, and project cargo and supporting roughly 20,000 deep-draft vessel transits per year.
