Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30am–5:30pm
Pay: $20–$23/hr

About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced Certified/Registered Medical Assistant III (CMA/RMA/CCMA) to join our Port Charlotte care team. This advanced role supports providers across a busy primary care clinic, ensuring smooth patient flow, accurate documentation, and exceptional patient care. You’ll perform high‑level clinical tasks, coordinate care, and help maintain a safe, efficient, and patient‑centered environment.
This position is ideal for a Medical Assistant with strong primary care experience, excellent teamwork skills, and confidence in labs, injections, and patient coordination.
A Day in the Life
- Conduct comprehensive patient intakes: vitals, medical histories, medications, allergies
- Assist providers with exams, minor procedures, wound care, and diagnostic testing
- Perform EKGs, immunizations, injections, and specimen collection
- Prepare, label, and process lab samples and point‑of‑care tests
- Maintain infection control, safety protocols, and equipment calibration
- Support triage, care coordination, and transitions across clinical settings
- Provide patient education on medications, treatment plans, chronic conditions, and preventive care
- Document clinical data and provider instructions in the EHR
- Schedule appointments, manage referrals, authorizations, and test results
- Verify insurance and assist with prior authorizations, billing, and coding
- Maintain inventory and prepare exam/procedure rooms
- Participate in quality‑improvement initiatives, audits, and safety drills
- Facilitate communication among patients, providers, and interdisciplinary teams
- Uphold HIPAA, OSHA, infection control, and compliance standards
- Provide compassionate, culturally competent care to diverse patient populations
- Demonstrate excellent guest service to patients and internal team members
- Perform other duties as assigned
What You Bring
- Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, CCMA)
- 2–3 years of Primary Care MA experience required
- Graduate of an accredited MA program
- Active certification + commitment to continuing education
- BLS certification required
- Skilled in vitals, EKGs, injections, specimen collection, and clinical room setup
- Knowledge of infection control, universal precautions, and sterile technique
- Familiarity with EHR systems and accurate documentation
- Strong communication, customer service, and teamwork skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced clinic
- Professionalism, accountability, and commitment to patient‑centered care
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
