Science Quest is directed by three undergraduate students: The Science Quest Head Manager, the Business and Operations Manager, and the Marketing and Materials Manager. These three will work with one another, along with the Engineering Society Vice-President of Operations and Director of Educational Services, to provide vision and leadership for Science Quest during their respective terms.

This closes on September 25th at 11:59pm.

Interviews will be conducted in person between September 28th and October 4th in BMH.

The major roles of the Science Quest Head Manager:

  • The coordination and implementation of all Science Quest programs
  • Overseeing all aspects of Science Quest operations
  • Maintaining a stable business and financial structure
  • Hiring of Assistant Managers and instructors
  • Maintaining positive relationships with Queen's and the greater Kingston community
  • Creation of a strategic plan and operational budget for the business year
  • Overseeing the Assistant Manager portfolios through weekly meetings
  • Scheduling of staff and workshops
  • Acting as a liaison with key contacts including but not limited to the Engineering and Applied Science Faculty, Canada Summer Jobs, etc.

Reports to:

  • Engineering Society Director of Educational Services
  • Engineering Society Vice President (Operations)

Work Term:

  • January 1st, 2026 to December 31st, 2026 (part-time during the school year, full-time from May 2026 to August 2026)

Salary/Time Commitment:

  • The position will be paid part-time during the school year salaried at $100/week (subject to approval) and paid full-time May-August salaried at $750/week (subject to approval). Estimated hours: about 35 hours/week
  • This pay rate includes 4% vacation pay
  • Salary is non-negotiable
