Syngenta's Product Technology and Engineering Team is seeking a Packaging Engineering Co-op to join our team in Greensboro, North Carolina. As a co-op, you will be responsible for supporting our packaging engineers' development, maintenance, and cost-reduction projects. You will interface closely with all groups (i.e., Formulation Development, Purchasing, Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain, Commercial, Country Contacts, etc.) associated with product commercialization and are expected to utilize available technologies, knowledge, and communication resources to maintain Syngenta's industry-leading reputation in packaging. As part of this experience, you will have the opportunity to manage your own project.

As part of Syngenta's Emerging Talent Program, you will gain hands-on experience, exposure to day-to-day business operations, and opportunities to apply your academic knowledge to real-world challenges while developing your professional skills.

Estimated Duration: January 2027 – June 2027

The expectation is that each selected Co-op will be able to work 40 hours a week onsite for the duration of their assignment.

Accountabilities:

  • Oversee and manage the complete packaging development process, comprising the creation of packaging designs, prototype development, performance testing, and regulatory compliance for agricultural chemical product registration, transportation, storage, and use.
  • Provide troubleshooting support to adjacent supply chain functions (procurement, manufacturing, quality, etc.) to ensure a safe, user-friendly customer experience.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives related to packaging materials, labor, efficiency, transportation, and storage.
  • Contribute to New Product Introduction (NPI) teams, ensuring all packaging-related milestones are completed on time.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of package technologies, materials, and testing related to the development of new packaging components.
  • Implement innovative and sustainable packaging solutions that maximize our competitive advantage and build brand preference.

Additional Information

Salary for this position ranges between $20 - $45 hourly.
