Position Summary
The GE Marketing Lead - Metabolism is responsible for driving the strategic planning, launch excellence, and long-term growth of Pfizer's metabolic portfolio across broad-market China, with a primary focus on diabetes, obesity diseases.
This role will lead the development and execution of innovative go-to-market strategies, accelerate market access and HCP engagement, build scalable healthcare ecosystem platforms, and ensure strong cross-functional collaboration to maximize business impact. The position requires deep expertise in metabolic diseases and demonstrated success in launching or managing diabetes, obesity, GLP-1RA, or related cardiometabolic brands.
Key Responsibilities
1. Portfolio Strategy & Brand Leadership
- Lead strategic planning and lifecycle management of the metabolic portfolio.
- Develop annual business plans, launch strategies, and growth initiatives aligned with business objectives.
- Identify market opportunities through customer, patient, competitor, and policy insights.
- Translate brand strategy into actionable field execution plans and measurable business outcomes.
2. Launch Excellence & Go-to-Market Development
- Drive successful launch and commercialization of innovative metabolic products.
- Design differentiated go-to-market models for broad-market and county-level healthcare settings.
- Build customer engagement strategies across Endocrinology, General Practice, Nutrition, Obesity Management, and other relevant specialties.
- Develop scalable models to accelerate adoption, access, and physician preference.
3. Healthcare Ecosystem & Platform Building
- Lead development of strategic healthcare ecosystem initiatives, including PPP and disease management platforms.
- Establish partnerships with key hospitals, academic societies, and healthcare stakeholders.
- Promote integrated patient management pathways for diabetes and obesity care.
- Generate real-world experience and best-practice models to support long-term brand growth.
4. Cross-functional Leadership
- Partner closely with Medical, Access, Sales, Commercial Excellence, Digital, and other teams.
- Ensure One Pfizer collaboration to align resources and accelerate business execution.
- Drive operational excellence, resource prioritization, and ROI optimization.
5. Market Insights & Performance Management
- Monitor competitive landscape, reimbursement policies, and market dynamics.
- Utilize data analytics to identify growth opportunities and guide investment decisions.
- Define and track key business KPIs, including: Market share growth Hospital access expansion Physician adoption Patient initiation Brand awareness and preference Real-world evidence generation
6. Team Leadership & Talent Development
- Build and develop a high-performing marketing organization.
- Coach and mentor team members to strengthen strategic thinking and execution capabilities.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree or above in Medicine, Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Public Health, Business, or related disciplines.
- MBA or advanced healthcare-related degree preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 8-10 years of pharmaceutical industry experience.
Mandatory Therapeutic Area Expertise
Strong metabolic disease background is required, including demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Type 2 Diabetes (T2D)
- Obesity / Chronic Weight Management (CWM)
- GLP-1 Receptor Agonists
- Endocrinology
