Black & McDonald’s Sheet Metal Fabrication team is growing! If you are committed and collaborative professional looking to contribute to a hard-working, innovative team, this opportunity is for you.

The Sheet Metal Estimator is located in Scarborough and typically reports directly to the Division Manager. Their primary focus is estimation of mechanical sheet metal projects under the direction of leadership. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Perform take-offs from construction drawings
• Establish costs of labour and materials for mechanical projects
• Maintain a strong knowledge of and list of suppliers
• Ensure costs of goods and materials are in line with industry standards
• Identify best costs and rates
• Evaluate and review proposal specifications to identify scope of work
• Ensure accuracy of estimates

WHAT YOU CAN OFFER

• Degree or Diploma in Estimating, HVAC Systems
• Skilled Trade Certificate
• 5+ years’ experience estimating mechanical sheet metal projects

SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Advanced knowledge and understanding of:
• Blue print reading
• Sheet metal design interpretation
• Industry materials and costs
• Organization and time management

Proficient user of:

• MS Office
• Autobid SM
• Procore
• CamDuct or Est/MEP would be an asset

The expected salary range for this role is between $80,000 - $95,000 per year. The starting salary will be determined based on several factors such as the successful candidate’s qualifications, including but not limited to education and experience. Base pay is one component of Black & McDonald’s total rewards package. Total rewards vary by position and may include additional offerings such as group insurance benefits, pension plan, annual discretionary bonus, career development programs, and other HR programs.
