Location: Low Moor, Bradford, West Yorkshire

Hours - 06.30 - 18.30 on a rolling 3 on 3 off basis including bank holidays and weekends. Full details will be provided prior to interview

We’re seeking a proactive and skilled Lead Operator Logistics to join our dynamic chemical manufacturing site in Bradford. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll be the senior operator on shift, guiding operations, supporting your team, and ensuring safety and efficiency in a high-hazard environment. You’ll play a central role in driving operational excellence.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead shift operations, ensuring production targets, safety standards, and quality requirements are consistently met.
  • Act as Incident Controller, Main Controller, or Liaison Officer under the Site Emergency Plan.
  • Issue permits (Hot Work/General), conduct hazard assessments, and enforce EHS policies.
  • Mentor operators, support on-the-job training, and promote knowledge sharing.
  • Respond to alarms and troubleshoot plant/process issues in real-time.
  • Coordinate product flow, stock allocation, vehicle movements, and warehouse interface.
  • Maintain accurate shift logs, reports, and documentation for seamless handovers.
  • Drive improvements in safety, process reliability, and housekeeping through initiatives like Lean and 5S.

About you

  • Experience in chemical manufacturing or hazardous process environments.
  • Strong understanding of EHS regulations, COMAH, DVSA/HGV standards, and chemical logistics.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and support operational teams.
  • Excellent situational awareness, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to stay composed under pressure and respond swiftly in emergency situations.
  • A team player with a commitment to safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement
