Senior Budget Analyst Job description:
Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Budget Analyst to join our dynamic finance team. In this pivotal role, you will support Headquarters Air Force, Chief of Information Office at the Pentagon.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Analysis & Tracking: Provide dedicated budget tracking and spend-plan maintenance for the directorates.
- Funding Document Preparation: Draft and format financial commitment documents for final government review, certification, and signature.
- Travel Ledger Reconciliation: Research open travel orders and compile backlog reports to assist the government in clearing un-submitted vouchers.
- DAR-Q & De-obligation Support: Analyze prior-year unexpended balances to identify de-obligation candidates, and compile draft quarterly DAR-Q audit responses for government validation.
- Invoice & Re-alignment Processing: Reconcile DISA billing data and prepare draft funding re-alignment packages to support government execution decisions.
Daily duties:
- Act as Resource Advisor (RA) support, with all final funding certifications and approvals remaining with the Government.
- Track and process DISA invoicing.
- Investigate open travel documents and un-submitted vouchers.
- Investigate and prepare packages/recommendations for prior-years unexpended balance de-obligations and DAR-Q responses.
- Manage office re-alignment requests.
- Develop monthly reports for briefings.
- Create Standard Operating Procedures for office Financial Manager.
Qualifications
- An Active DOD Secret Security Clearance is a must for this position
- Must have 7+years of experience supporting DoD/AF budget and financial operations
- Experience with Defense Travel System (DTS)
- Managing unexpended balance de-obligations and DAR-Q responses
