Senior IT Business Analyst, GA Delivery
We are seeking a Senior IT Business Analyst to support Manulife’s General Account (GA) operations across Asia by translating business strategy into technology solutions. This role requires a unique blend of business acumen, technical expertise and strong stakeholder management to lead and implement solutions.
Collaborating with the Head of GA Investments Asia COO Team and various Operations and Technology groups, this individual will execute prioritized initiatives to support the expansion of the GA Asia business and its technology transformation from end-user tools to modern technology platforms.
Position Responsibilities:
- Partner with GA stakeholders (Investments, Asset Liability Management, Treasury, Finance, Risk) to analyze, and document business requirements, user stories, and process flows for Asia markets.
- Manage backlog, stakeholder communication and lead end-to-end delivery for GA-related technology, collaborating with global teams for centrally managed systems.
- Map and optimize business processes; recommend automation, data quality controls, and operational efficiencies.
- Support integrations with investment platforms (e.g., OMS, PMS), accounting systems, risk engines, and finance/reporting tools; manage cross-system dependencies.
- Monitor post-implementation outcomes, KPIs, and adoption; lead continuous improvement and change management.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Finance, Engineering, or related field; Master’s a plus.
- >5 years as an IT Business Analyst or Product Owner in financial services; experience with insurance General Account or institutional asset management strongly preferred.
- Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving, prioritization, and decision-making skills.
- Strong domain knowledge in fixed income, mortgages/loans, private assets, alternatives, derivatives, FX, and liquidity management.
- Hands-on experience with investment/finance systems: OMS/PMS, ETP (e.g. BTBS, TradeWeb, FXConnect), investment accounting (e.g., SimCorp, Aladdin), risk/analytics (e.g., MSCI/Barra, Bloomberg PORT), data platforms/warehouses (Databricks/SQL), and reporting tools (Power BI).
- Solid understanding of data governance, data quality controls, master/metadata management, and reference data.
- Experience working in Agile (Scrum/Kanban) and hybrid delivery environments; comfortable with Jira/Confluence and DevOps practices.
- Excellent communication, workshop facilitation, and stakeholder management across business and technology.
