Job Overview:

Job Summary**

Primoris Renewable Energy is seeking a skilled Civil/Mechanical Equipment Operator for our solar farm construction projects. This role involves operating a variety of heavy machinery for site preparation, trenching, pile driving, and other civil and mechanical tasks, without the need for commercial driving.

Job Responsibilities**

  • Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, skid steers, forklifts, telehandlers, pile drivers, and other construction machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Perform site preparation tasks including clearing, grading, and trenching for underground utilities and foundations.
  • Assist with the installation and assembly of mechanical components for solar array structures.
  • Conduct pre-operational checks and routine maintenance on assigned equipment.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and project specifications.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, engineers, and other team members.
  • Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and report major malfunctions to maintenance personnel.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support project completion.

Job Qualifications**

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience operating heavy civil and/or mechanical construction equipment.
  • Proficiency in operating multiple types of equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, forklifts, telehandlers, and pile drivers.
  • Strong understanding of construction site safety procedures and protocols.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans is a plus.
  • Physical ability to perform demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods in various weather conditions.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
  • Reliable transportation to and from job sites (non-CDL required).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • OSHA 10 or 30 certification is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
