About the Job
We are looking for an Insurance Finance professional with IFRS 17 experience to join a growing finance team in Kuala Lumpur.
If you have experience in insurance accounting or financial reporting, have worked with IFRS 17, and are comfortable supporting financial close and reporting activities, we'd be keen to hear from you.
The position can be considered at Senior Analyst or Manager level, depending on your experience.
What You'll Do
- Manage or support month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial close activities.
- Prepare and review insurance accounting entries, reconciliations and financial reports.
- Support IFRS 17 accounting and reporting activities.
- Analyse balance sheet and P&L movements and provide commentary on key variances.
- Support statutory, management and regulatory reporting.
- Partner with Finance, Actuarial, Risk and other stakeholders on accounting and reporting matters.
- Support internal and external audit requirements.
- Review accounting treatments and maintain appropriate financial controls.
- Contribute to process improvement, automation and finance transformation initiatives.
What We're Looking For
- Experience in insurance accounting, insurance finance or financial reporting.
- Knowledge and practical exposure to IFRS 17.
- Experience with financial close and reporting activities.
- Good understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations and financial controls.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- Strong analytical and stakeholder management skills.
Good to Have
These are advantageous, but not mandatory:
- IFRS 9 knowledge or exposure.
- Reinsurance accounting or reporting experience.
- Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CA or ICAEW.
- Experience in a multinational insurance environment.
- Exposure to finance transformation, automation or process improvement.
