ER Veterinary Technician/Assistant (Locum)

Locum/Relief Veterinary Technician at VCA McCormick Ranch Animal Hospital and Emergency Center

The Role

As a Credentialed Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant with 3+ years Emergency experience. , you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality patient care. You’ll work closely with our veterinarians to support a variety of medical procedures while helping guide clients through their pet’s care with confidence and compassion.

What You’ll Do

• ## Provide exceptional nursing care to emergency patients.
• ## Collaborate closely with ER Doctors and fellow technicians.
• ## Perform triage assessments and assist with patient stabilization.
• ## Utilize advanced technical skills including venipuncture, IV catheter placement, diagnostic imaging, laboratory diagnostics, oxygen therapy, and blood transfusion support.
• ## Monitor hospitalized and ICU patients, recognizing subtle changes in patient status and communicating findings to the medical team.
• ## Assist with emergency procedures and advanced treatments.
• ## Educate clients and provide clear discharge instructions.
• ## Help create a positive, collaborative environment focused on outstanding patient care.
