Launch & Localisation Engineer

Responsible for leading AIS and Exhaust Systems. Localisation of their respective commodities and the launch of their respective systems during new model launches. Generate and implement localisation and design cost reduction TVM ideas to meet or exceed the TVM cost reduction targets

Responsibilities

• Responsibility for the localisation of components for new model launches post-FDJ to post-OKTB.
• Onsite launch engineer representing LVEA for components and systems related to AIS and Exhaust Systems.
• Participate in design and localisation idea generation activities.
• Lead the implementation of design and localisation cost reduction ideas at Silverton Assembly Plant.
• Interdepartmental Collaboration
• While reporting to the PD supervisor, the engineer will work within a large cross-functional group including Purchasing, Manufacturing Engineering, Material Planning & Logistics, Supplier Technical Assistance and Finance.
• Participate in or lead projects that involve multiple departments, promoting integration and cohesion across the organisation.
• Engage with key internal and external stakeholders to collaborate on solving problems and project management to deliver launch and TVM objectives

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree / National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an automotive Product Development environment.
• Good knowledge of manufacturing and logistic processes.
• Proficient in MS Office
