Repair & Maintenance Technician II - Wireline

The R&M Technician - Wireline role undertakes hands-on tasks and utilises Weatherford's facilities, equipment, machinery, and systems. The role applies techniques and practices to complete the scope of tasks covering inspection, repair, and maintenance of wireline field tools, preparing them for their next assignment. Tasks will span the entire process from receiving the tools, dismantling, repairing, and refurbishing using technical manuals, procedures, and technical work instructions.

Responsibilities:

• Participates in all daily operations & safety meetings, toolbox, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and reports any issues promptly using the appropriate tools
• Maintains equipment, facilities, and work area in a presentable and safe working condition
• Repairs machines, equipment, or structures, using tools such as hammers, hoists, cranes, drills, wrenches, or equipment such as precision measuring instruments or electrical or electronic testing devices
• Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rules, callipers, micrometres, or other measuring instruments.
• Follows maintenance processes & procedures to undertake the following: unloading, disassembly, cleaning, pressure testing, visual checking, painting, assembly, loading, and storage of tools, completing all necessary documentation as required against their level of training & competence
• Initiates, updates, closes out AIRTs, PFTs, forms, checklists, and work orders during maintenance of equipment and assets, following the necessary maintenance processes and procedures against their level of training & competence
• Complies with the WO labour time log by accurately clocking in/Out of the WO (Work Order) Time tracking system
• Utilises all tools and lifting equipment for opening and closing crates & containers and uses pallet and forklift trucks for the safe movement of equipment to and from vehicles, storage areas, racks, shelves, and bins against their level of training & competence. Must be certified for the use of lifting equipment, including forklift trucks and cranes
• Accepts incoming shipments and prepares shipments for dispatch, validating quantities and ensuring all necessary documentation is accurate and complies with all Company procedures against their level of training & competence
• Order parts, supplies, or equipment from catalogues or approved suppliers according to Weatherford’s guidelines and procedures
• Supports and complies with the LEAN initiatives and participates in the continuous efficiency improvement program of the facility.
• Performs other duties and activities safely as assigned by supervisor within physical constraints of the job

Required:

• 3-5 years experience of R&M within wireline is essential
• Fluent English both written and verbal
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure
• Willing to work in remote locations
• Experience of Sondex Tools would be advantage
• Experience of working in Algeria
• Eligible to work in Algeria without a visa
• This role is not rotational and based in Hassi Messaoud
