For our procurement department we are currently looking for Category Buyer EMEA, who will be responsible for category strategy, supplier landscape and commercial performance across Europe. You will drive savings and cost avoidance through structured sourcing, negotiation and contract management while ensuring compliance with KION policies and procurement standards. In close collaboration with internal stakeholders and global procurement teams, you enable scalable, transparent and value-adding solutions for the KION Group.

Tasks and Qualifications:

Your Responsibility:

  • Responsible for assigned Category Mobility (Travel & Fleet) and its corresponding supplier base in Europe
  • Define and implement category/sub-category strategy
  • Review supplier base, define robust preferred supplier base, reduce the number of suppliers and bundle business accordingly.
  • Deliver overall Indirect Procurement Saving and Cost Avoidance targets, benchmark responsible category spend frequently, identify value levers, lead supplier negotiations.
  • Report cost-saving, cost avoidance, and pipeline by using the established Procurement templates and tools.
  • Analyze Purchasing data, ensure data transparency and high data quality in all KION Purchasing used systems
  • Follow KION Group Procedures, work and cooperate closely with Local Site Buyers as well as internal stakeholders and ensure compliance across all Purchasing activities.
  • Improve and implement standardization for assigned categories (standard documents, common services & goods)
  • Manage contracts and supplier performance; conclude contracts, ensure transparency of all contracts, reviewing terms and validities frequently.
  • Continuous Improvement of available Procedures and Systems in respect of Indirect Purchasing
  • Global alignment and collaboration in case of potential synergies with KION APAC and America

Your Skills and Expertise:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or any Procurement related discipline
  • 4 – 6 years of procurement experience in travel industry / in an international company where you have conducted Purchasing activities in the Category Mobility (Travel).
  • Experience in working in cross-functional teams and in an international environment
  • Experience with negotiations and contract management of international and local suppliers
  • Fluent in English
  • Excellent stakeholder management, presentation and communication skills; well organized, structured and able to set priorities.
  • High personal motivation and ability to develop practical and innovative approaches to meet objectives.
  • Strong analytical skills and a results-driven mindset in a team environment.
  • Self-motivated and independent; focused on results; committed team player with strong listening and observation skills.
