Recognized as a strategic expert aligned with Construction Risk Control. Individual contributor responsible for business results through delivery of risk control services within the Construction dept. Provides the highest degree of technical competency and coordination for large, complex accounts. Drives risk control expertise for the most complex risks and participates in the underwriting risk analysis processes.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:
- Engages with underwriting to drive corporate strategies for a BU and engages in industry events, broker summits or account meetings as needed.
- Optimizes distribution engagement, strengthening relationships with agents and brokers to provide customer solutions.
- Operates as the key Risk Control account executive, managing the full suite of consulting services and engagement methods available for assigned accounts.
- Working with field leaders, leverages account-assigned resources to deliver risk assessments and consulting services.
- Develops global account strategies to positively impact loss ratios, new business goals and retention requirements to achieve profitability targets for the BU.
- Supports the BU with technical expertise to ensure ongoing organizational learning, development, and advancement of BU key areas for Risk Control.
- Works with BU leadership to review and direct the evaluation and assessment of large and complex risks or risks with significant exposures. Applies Risk Control policies, guidelines, insurance laws and regulations, and drives the resolution of critical/cost driver Risk Control issues.
- Presents capability, stewardship and other presentations as needed to discuss account management, services or offerings as needed.
- Develops and maintains business relationships with internal and external business partners, actively shaping new industry relationships.
May perform additional duties as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
- Excellent communication, negotiation, decision making and presentation skills. Ability to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external business partners.
- Senior level technical and business management acumen and knowledge of insurance, risk management principles, practices and procedures. Contract management skills.
- Demonstrated understanding and success with Risk Control management of large, complex, and high profile accounts.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to prioritize and simultaneously manage multiple projects and teams.
- Creativity in resolving unique and challenging business situations.
- Ability to achieve results, at the portfolio level, by taking a proactive long-term view of business unit goals and objectives.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software.
- Ability and willingness to travel 20-40%.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree, with Masters preferred, or equivalent experience within the industry, segment or LOB being represented.
- Typically a minimum of ten years of risk control experience.
- Applicable professional designations preferred , including CSP, ARM or other applicable designation.
