The Role:

The Senior/Lead Data Engineer will design, code, and support machine learning pipelines, data pipelines, and data stores for advertising applications, solve problems, collaborate with team members, and work to support manual and automated testing in an engineer-led continuous deployment environment by performing the following duties:

What You'll Do:

• Demonstrate proper use of data structures, algorithms for traversing them, and optimizing their use.
• Strive for clean, well-tested, and expressive Spark and python code.
• Collaborate with product and design stakeholders.
• Develop pipelines and data architecture using best practices in scalability and privacy preservation.
• Write and maintain unit tests and code coverage reports; strive for continuous releases with less than 5%
• bugs.
• Drive results from collaboration, prototyping, test-driven CI, and pull request reviews (ticket tracking,
• acceptance testing, etc.) by producing high-quality code and continuing to learn to improve the system.).

Who You Are:

• 5+ years of professional experience in data engineering for a Senior role; 7+ years with demonstrated technical leadership for a Lead role.
• Contribute ideas, research, and knowledge to the team to increase skills for all.
• Develop programmatic solutions to business problems, automate business processes.
• Take ownership of functionality from development through deployment.
• Be ready to learn new languages, tools, and systems quickly; communicate challenges; ask for help regularly.
• Deploy quality code, write tests, and learn from mistakes to build a better system and improve your skills.
• Actively participate or lead team meetings, mentor junior staff, pair-program, and learn on your own.
• Work with product owners, analysts, designers, and other developers to estimate the size and scope of work.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university with a degree in computer science, math, or related STEM field; 5 or more years related experience and/or training with Go, C, C++, C#, Java, or Python application development; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience building data pipelines with Apache Spark and deploying machine learning models.
