Job Description
Position Summary:
At Syngenta, our goal is to build the most collaborative and trustworthy team in agriculture, providing top-quality seeds and innovative crop protection solutions that improve farmers' success. To support this mission, Syngenta is looking for a Senior SME ATR – Entity Lead to join the Finance team in Pune. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting for assigned legal entities, covering both IFRS group reporting and local statutory requirements.
The role acts as a key point of contact between country finance teams, process teams, compliance, audit, and other finance towers. The successful candidate will bring strong accounting expertise, a service mindset, sound judgement, and the ability to operate effectively in a complex multinational environment.
Accountabilities:
- Ensure timely and accurate recording of business transactions in ERP systems in line with IFRS and local statutory reporting requirements.
- Review trial balances, reconciliations, accounting treatments, and entity-level results to identify risks, exceptions, and required actions.
- Partner with Finance Frontline, country teams, audit, tax, compliance, and process teams to resolve legal entity accounting and reporting matters.
- Support internal and external audits, including timely and sustainable remediation of audit findings.
- Contribute to internal controls, compliance initiatives, segregation of duty risk management, and SAP S/4HANA or finance transformation activities.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Commerce, or a related discipline.
- Professional finance qualification such as CA, ICWA, CMA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent is preferred for senior-level expertise.
- 3–5+ years of experience in Account to Report / Record to Report, preferably in a multinational environment.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, local GAAP / statutory reporting, reconciliations, accounting treatment, and trial balance review.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems; SAP experience is required, and SAP S/4HANA exposure is an advantage.
