Job Description
Conduct new design or revision of PCBA of the optical transceiver from concept to completion.
Responsibilities
- Drive board design phases including product spec. review, architecture design, component selection, schematics drawing, BOM, board layout, board bring-up, verification testing, EMC pre-compliance testing, etc.
- Coordinate optical subassembly, mechanical, and PCB layout engineers to optimize transceiver design.
- Support comprehensive design reviews and documentation.
- Interact with program manager, buyer/planner, suppliers to make sure designed parts are available in timely manner for build.
- Lead the integration of hardware, firmware and optics, debug and troubleshooting of optical transceiver.
- Support of resolving all DFM issues from engineering and factory feedback.
- Sometimes travel on business to support the module production line.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in electrical engineering, telecom engineering, or a related field.
- 4+ years of working experience as an electrical or hardware engineer in the optical transceiver industry.
- Strong analog circuit design skills required.
- Good knowledge of power supply designs, hands on measurement experience.
- Strong communication and presentation skill required.
- Experience with high density multiple-layer board design cycle.
- Good knowledge of PCB fab and assembly processes.
- Expertise in RF design using modeling tools such as ADS or HFSS is a plus.
- Understanding of microprocessors and real time control firmware is a plus.
