Job Overview:

This position involves the construction, maintenance, and repair of overhead and underground electrical power lines and systems. Lineworkers will perform a variety of tasks to ensure the safe and reliable delivery of electricity.

Job Responsibilities:**

  • Install, maintain, and repair overhead and underground electrical power lines, cables, and other electrical equipment.
  • Work with energized and de-energized lines, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Operate a variety of tools and equipment, including bucket trucks, digger derricks, trenchers, and various hand tools.
  • Climb poles and structures, and work at various heights and in confined spaces.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders.
  • Perform routine inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs of electrical systems.
  • Assist in the restoration of power during outages and emergencies, often in adverse weather conditions.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and customers.
  • Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.

Job Qualifications:**

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a recognized Lineworker apprenticeship program preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Lineworker with demonstrated ability to work on both overhead (OH) and underground (UG) systems.
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in various weather conditions.
  • Strong understanding of electrical theory, safety practices, and utility construction standards.
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment such as bucket trucks, digger derricks, and trenchers.
  • Must be able to lift and carry heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, and be on-call for emergencies.
  • OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred.
