Employer description

Travel Medical Assistant - Nationwide | Temp/Seasonal - Arkansas

Take your Medical Assistant skills beyond the clinic in a nationwide travel role built for an Arkansas-based MA who likes independence, patient connection, and hands-on preventive care. In this field-based role, you’ll complete scheduled in-home member visits across the U.S., help members stay connected to care, and support Medicare Annual Wellness Visits directly in the community.

Opportunity

We have 6 openings for Travel Medical Assistants supporting in-home member visits in different states based on coverage needs.

This is a strong fit for a Medical Assistant who is comfortable working independently, meeting patients where they are, and staying connected with clinical and operations teams while delivering consistent, accurate visit support.

This is a W-2, temporary/seasonal, non-exempt role with variable hours. The project is expected to run through January 2027. An extension may be possible based on business needs, performance, and continued availability, but it is not guaranteed.

Role Details

  • Base location: Little Rock, AR / Arkansas-based candidates
  • Openings: 6
  • Travel scope: Nationwide travel across the U.S.; this is not a Little Rock-only role
  • Employment type: W-2, temporary/seasonal, non-exempt
  • Schedule: Variable hours based on patient volume, member availability, geography, and business coverage needs
  • Pay: $35 per hour

What You Will Own

  • Travel to scheduled in-home member visits in different states based on coverage needs
  • Complete Medicare Annual Wellness Visits and other preventive-care activities within your Medical Assistant scope of practice
  • Take and document vitals, health screenings, and other member information
  • Perform approved point-of-care testing, including A1Cs and UAs
  • Support specimen collection and other assigned clinical activities, as applicable
  • Document visits accurately and on time in the designated system
  • Follow clinical workflows, safety procedures, infection-control practices, and HIPAA requirements
  • Work independently in the field while staying connected with clinical and operations teams

Travel and Schedule

This is a nationwide travel role. You may be assigned to support coverage in different states across the U.S., including overnight assignments when needed.

  • Weekly hours vary based on patient volume, member availability, geographic needs, and business coverage needs
  • There is no guaranteed minimum number of hours per week
  • Schedules are typically provided about two weeks ahead
  • Required out-of-state travel time is paid
  • Mileage is reimbursed at $0.725 per mile between patient visits
  • Eligible travel expenses for extended or overnight assignments are covered, including transportation, rental cars when needed, hotel accommodations, and meals

What Makes You a Strong Fit

  • At least 1 year of Medical Assistant experience
  • Medical Assistant certificate, diploma, or credential
  • Experience taking vitals, completing screenings, supporting point-of-care testing, and documenting clinical information
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, current registration, and active auto insurance
  • Ability and willingness to travel nationally, including overnight assignments when needed
  • Comfort working independently in patients’ homes
  • Strong organization and follow-through with visit documentation, scheduling changes, and field-based workflows
  • Ability to meet required onboarding and compliance requirements, including vaccination and TB/PPD documentation

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with Medicare Annual Wellness Visits
  • Experience completing in-home or field-based patient visits
  • Preventive-care screening experience
  • Experience with A1Cs, UAs, specimen collection, or similar point-of-care workflows
  • Well-Child Visit experience
  • Background supporting older adults, pediatric patients, community health, primary care, or mobile care programs

Why This Role Stands Out

You’ll use your MA skills in a flexible, field-based environment where the work is personal, practical, and community-centered. Instead of staying in one clinic, you’ll travel to members’ homes, help close care gaps, support preventive care, and bring clinical services closer to the people who need them.

If you are based in Arkansas and open to nationwide travel, this is a chance to apply your clinical skills in a role that combines patient connection, independence, and meaningful preventive-care support.
