Job Profile Summary:
As a Senior Reservoir Engineer at Devon Energy, you will support the Asset Evaluation Team, focusing on Acquisitions & Divestitures (A&D) with project-based evaluations requiring quick turnaround. This role emphasizes reservoir engineering expertise and economic analysis to assess and optimize oil and gas assets. You will report directly to the Manager of the Asset Evaluation Team and work on-site at Devon’s headquarters in Houston, Texas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Collaborate with geoscience, drilling, production, and land teams to complete asset evaluations
· Conduct discounted cash flow analysis and recommend valuations for assets and companies through the integration of production and inventory value
· Perform economic analysis for acquisitions and merger opportunities using Excel and ARIES
· Gather, organize, and interpret large datasets to define reservoir characteristics, generate type curves, and build capital and expense models
· Evaluate Lease Operating Expenses (LOE) and operational costs for accuracy and alignment with asset performance
· Conduct feasibility studies on existing assets, potential acquisitions, and divestitures, and provide recommendations based on findings
· Perform reserves studies for budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
· Conduct well performance analysis, pressure interpretation, volumetric calculations, recovery factor method assessments, and production decline curve evaluations
· Maintain data accuracy in technical and economic reporting
Skills and Experience:
· Proficiency in ARIES, Spotfire, and Excel for technical and economic evaluations
· Extensive experience with reservoir engineering methods, including material balances, volumetric calculations, and type curve generation
· Advanced capability in analyzing large datasets and applying decline curve analysis
· Experience conducting reserves evaluations for reporting and forecasting purposes
· Familiarity with cost estimation for asset development and operational expenses
Education Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree required: Petroleum, Chemical, Mechanical Engineering or closely related field
Years of Experience:
· Minimum of 10 years of experience in reservoir engineering or related technical discipline
· Minimum of 2 years of experience in Business Development.
· Significant experience in acquisitions, divestitures, and reserves evaluation preferred
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
· 10% - 15%
