Employer description

Data Analytics – Senior Associate – Conversational Analytics

The Chief Data Office (CDO) is seeking a Senior Associate to join the Enterprise Data & Analytics team in our London office.

This role suits an early-career technology enthusiast who can be productive quickly, someone with strong fundamentals and some hands-on experience (through industry roles, internships, or substantial project work) and the ambition to take ownership in a fast-moving analytics and AI environment.

The Enterprise Data & Analytics team reports to the Chief Data Officer and supports decision-making across Fitch Group through insights, analytics, and data-driven solutions. The team operates globally, with colleagues in London and New York, and builds capabilities that help business units drive revenue growth, product innovation, productivity gains, and stronger business performance.

Within this global function, you will join the team scaling our conversational analytics capability – taking a proven approach and extending it across a growing number of dashboards, partnering closely with each dashboard's product owner along the way.

What We Offer:

  • High ownership from day one, with clear goals and access to experienced colleagues for targeted support and review.
  • The opportunity to contribute to high-impact analytics and reporting initiatives that support decision-making across Fitch Group.
  • A supportive, collaborative environment with access to experienced colleagues across a global function.
  • Exposure to a broad range of stakeholders, data sources, and business questions.

What you’ll work on (indicative, not exhaustive):

  • Agentic AI Workflows – Build and iterate on an already-established prototype that lets users interact with our data and dashboards through natural-language conversation.
  • AI-Ready Data – Partner with dashboard product owners to shape their dashboards into an AI-ready form the agent can query cleanly and reliably.
  • Semantic Layers & Ontologies – Contribute to semantic models (metrics, definitions, and metadata) so a given metric means the same thing everywhere it's asked about, however the question is phrased.
  • Knowledge Base Authoring – Author and maintain the knowledge base that tells the agent how to answer questions correctly for each dashboard.
  • Agent Routing – Develop the orchestration logic that routes user prompts to the correct dashboards and data as the AI-ready dashboard estate grows.
  • Testing & Quality – Test each newly onboarded dashboard for accuracy and correct permissioning before it goes live, and help build repeatable checks the team can reuse for every future dashboard.
  • Evaluation & Benchmarking – Help define evaluation criteria — accuracy, latency, cost, and user impact — to support decisions on what to scale.

What You Need to Have:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience), plus evidence you can deliver in real-world settings (e.g., 1–3 years experience, internships, or substantial end-to-end projects).
  • Genuine curiosity about AI, LLMs, and the evolving analytics landscape, and enthusiasm for driving AI-led initiatives forward.
  • A genuine interest in data: how it's modelled, joined, structured, and optimised — and the judgement to think about what "good" looks like in a data model.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. You'll be working directly with dashboard product owners across the business, so you need to be comfortable running conversations, asking good questions, and keeping people engaged.
  • Ability to work independently: you can scope tasks, manage your time, and make pragmatic trade-offs to deliver value with minimal supervision.

What Would Make You Stand Out:

  • Understanding of data modelling concepts, metadata management, or semantic layers.
  • Exposure to conversational AI, LLM-powered tools, or agent-based workflows.
  • Experience with MCP connections.
  • Familiarity with BI platforms (e.g., Qlik, Power BI, Tableau).
  • Familiarity with version control (Git).
  • Familiarity with SQL – helpful for reasoning about data models, but not essential.
