People Partner – New Zealand- Country HR Lead
We are seeking a talented individual to join our Pacific People Function team at Marsh. This role will be based in Auckland, New Zealand. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
Reporting to the Regional HR Director, this role partners with senior leaders across New Zealand and Fiji to shape and deliver people priorities that support the business strategy. You will provide strategic and operational HR leadership across the employee lifecycle, with a focus on sound governance, compliance, and a positive employee experience. The role also supports complex people matters, talent development, reward activities, and organisational change.
We will count on you to:
- Partner with New Zealand leadership teams to shape and deliver the People Plan, aligned with Pacific People Function priorities and annual operating plans
- Use workforce analytics and business insights to inform people priorities, measure outcomes, and support decision-making to drive employee engagement
- Lead talent reviews, succession planning, and critical role identification, and support high-impact decisions for senior roles
- Work with Finance and business leaders on job requisitions, off-cycle payments, compensation activity, and year-end processes for New Zealand and Fiji
- Act as a key contact for complex people matters, including complaints, investigations, performance, conduct, restructures, and other organisational change initiativesTake the lead on Country specific HR matters such as NZ Benefits or legislation changes
- Coach leaders on risk-aware decision-making, documentation standards, and alignment with local legislation, regional policies, and internal governance
What you need to have:
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Experience advising executive and senior leaders on people strategy and operational matters
- Experience supporting people managers with team leadership, complaints, and performance matters
- Deep knowledge of New Zealand employment legislation

- Experience partnering with reward and benefits teams on compensation strategy, market benchmarking, or benefits activity
- A commercial mindset with well-developed stakeholder influence skills and the ability to work credibly with senior business leaders
