Profile summary:

Good understanding on monitoring and investment strategies in accordance with Investment guidelines. Keep business informed on regulatory matters like up-coming regulatory changes etc., Monitoring and reviewing key activities undertaken by the business. Establish as a Trusted Advisor to the business. The source of assessment and interpretation of all risks in the business for NTAM Senior Management and Northern Trust Corporate risk and to be a consultative partner to the front, middle, and back office capabilities, providing transparent information related to the risk of their portfolios, businesses and processes.

## Job Title: consultant – Investment Risk

Principal Responsibilities

Support the Global Investment Risk team across key functional areas:

  • Monitor risk thresholds for portfolios, working closely with risk and portfolio managers to interpret and address any breaches.
  • Review and provide oversight on the work produced by analysts and senior analysts.
  • Collaborate with the risk management team to design new analytical reporting formats, retire legacy reporting, automate processes, and produce investment risk analysis.
  • Develop regularly scheduled exposure analysis and customized risk reports on an ad hoc basis in response to current market conditions.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance existing reports and contribute to new projects, initiatives.
  • Partner with risk management and senior leadership on matters related to investment risk
  • Review and present materials required for Equity and Fixed Income Committee meetings.

Skills / Experience

  • Internal - 24 months as Technical Coordinator/Associate Consultant
  • Experience of 8-10 years within investment management industry
  • MBA in Finance or equivalent; CFA/FRM or above is an advantage
  • Good knowledge of equities, fixed income, alternatives and derivative instruments
  • Working knowledge of Power BI, VBA, SQL and Python for is desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build credibility and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while contributing as a team player across local and global teams.
