Responsibilities
- Assist in detecting and responding to system issues and help document incident reports and post-mortems.
- Support application deployment and stability by collaborating with development and operations teams.
- Contribute to automating routine tasks and writing scripts/tools to improve efficiency and system reliability.
- Help implement and improve monitoring systems (e.g., Datadog) and build dashboards to visualize system health.
- Learn about disaster recovery planning and performance optimization and support documentation efforts.
- Participate in system design discussions, capacity planning, and team brainstorming sessions.
- Explore new technologies, share ideas, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- The role involves daily (or regular) communication with pan-Canadian stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related field.
- Interest in infrastructure, automation, and system reliability.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is an asset.
- Understanding of DevOps concepts and tools (e.g., Terraform, observability platforms).
- Experience with scripting (Python, Bash, or similar) is a plus.
- Strong initiative, curiosity, and willingness to learn.
