European Data Governance Partner
The Role
The European Data Governance Partner is the primary governance relationship manager for assigned business functions. The role guides Data Domain Practice Leads and Data Stewards, embeds practical controls, manages data-related risk and drives governance remediation across complex European data environments. Partners may rotate across business areas to broaden expertise and reduce key-person dependency. This role will be directed and managed by the Head of EU Data Governance.
In this role you will
- Work under the strategic direction of the Head of EU Data Governance and be responsible for implementing governance requirements within your assigned business area
- Act as the primary Data Governance contact for assigned functions and build trusted relationships across Business, Technology, Risk, Compliance, Privacy and Security
- Coach Data Domain Practice Leads and Data Stewards to adopt the European Data Governance Framework and strengthen ownership and accountability
- Support implementation of European Data Governance controls and sustainable operating routines
- Assess business processes against governance requirements and the Data Governance Risk Assessment framework
- Identify control gaps and data risks; develop proportionate remediation plans and drive them through closure
- Manage concurrent governance initiatives, roadmaps, delivery plans, RAID logs and status reporting; track implementation and escalate material issues
- Prepare and present updates, findings and recommendations to the European Data Governance Working Group, European Data Forum and other oversight forums
- Simplify and improve governance processes, share good practice and contribute to controls, methods, training and operating-model maturity
What it takes
- Clear communications skills & stakeholder management experience. Can clearly and precisely translate technical detail to easy-to-understand summaries in meetings, presentations and documents
- Experience managing complex workstreams in a regulated environment, with strong stakeholder influencing, facilitation and senior-level communication skills
- Experience of managing projects and partnering with different business functions
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Preferred experience in Data Governance, Data Management or a related discipline
- Strong understanding of enterprise frameworks, policies and operating models
Preferred
- Experience in a large regulated organisation; Data Quality, Privacy, Risk,
- Compliance or Operational Resilience; DAMA-DMBOK, DCAM, GDPR or retention; and Collibra, Purview or similar tooling.

This is a hybrid position and would require you to work in the office 3 days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday)
