IT Support Specialist

VALD is seeking an IT Support Specialist to join the VALD IT Ops team. You will bridge the gap between day-to-day user support and modern workplace administration. While you’ll be the go-to person for complex troubleshooting and hardware deployments, you’ll also get hands-on experience working with Azure, Entra, and Microsoft 365. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in IT support, excellent communication skills, and an eagerness to grow their skills in endpoint security and systems administration.

The Opportunity

Are you an experienced helpdesk professional ready to take the next step in your career? The VALD IT Ops team is looking for an IT Support Specialist to tackle our daily service desk operations while expanding their skills into modern cloud administration. You’ll be a key resource for the team, taking ownership of support escalations, driving a seamless onboarding experience, and working closely with the IT Ops team assisting in managing our Microsoft-centric environment (Intune, Entra ID, and Defender). What you will do

• Dedicated Support: Provide high-quality L1/2 support, troubleshooting OS, network, and application issues across the business.
• Modern Endpoint Management: Assist with administering Microsoft Intune, including device enrollment, application deployment, and configuration updates for both Windows and macOS.
• Identity & Access Management: Manage user lifecycles, configure access permissions, and troubleshoot authentication issues within Microsoft Entra ID and M365.
• Hardware Heroics: Configure and deploy laptops, set up peripherals, and manage workspace setups for new starters to ensure a flawless Day 1 experience.
• Process Improvement: Identify recurring issues on the service desk and help develop scripts, automations, or documentation to resolve them efficiently.
• Team Collaboration: Assist with larger IT infrastructure projects and learn directly from our senior IT Ops Lead and systems experts.

Is this you?

• 1+ years' experience in IT support, helpdesk, or desktop support.
• Hands-on experience supporting Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and Windows/macOS environments.
• Familiarity with MDM solutions (like Microsoft Intune) and standard security practices.
• Exposure to PowerShell scripting or a strong desire to learn.
• Experienced Problem Solver: You have a solid foundation in IT support and don't panic when faced with a complex or unfamiliar technical issue.
• A Great Communicator: You can translate technical fixes to non-technical stakeholders with patience and a professional flair.
• Proactive & Driven: You don’t just close tickets; you look for the root cause and find ways to prevent the issue from happening again.
• Eager to Learn: You have a genuine interest in modern endpoint management, security, and cloud technologies.
• No Ego: You’re just as happy unboxing monitors and setting up desks as you are troubleshooting a conditional access policy
