Job Description Summary
Under general direction with a high level of autonomy, uses extensive knowledge and skills obtained through education and experience to manage legal litigation matters involving assigned functional area, which include matters involving collections of amounts owed to the firm, matters involving disputes relating to clients’ trusts and estates, and other matters. May lead major projects and disputes in FINRA’s arbitration forum and in federal and state courts both with and without the assistance of outside counsel. Will maintain and manage a caseload and prepare answers to statements of claim or other filings, engage in discovery and motion practice, engage in settlement negotiations and mediations and conduct arbitration final hearings and trials. In addition to the foregoing, will manage outside counsel in matters involving cross-functional teams. Influences strategic direction, develops tactical plans and completes complex assignments with substantial latitude for unreviewed actions or decisions. Provides comprehensive solutions to complex problems or needs. End results are evaluated for achieving goals and objectives. Provides litigation-related legal advice across the Raymond James entities. Also has extensive contact with internal stakeholders, including senior management, and is required to identify, research, analyze and resolves complex legal issues with significant impact.

- Manage the implementation of the organization's litigation strategy and methods ensuring efficiency, effectiveness, and cost-conscious processing.
- Manage the provision of a significant legal service specialty.
- Manage and report on the performance of a substantial, diverse team; set appropriate performance objectives for direct reports or project/account team members and hold individuals accountable for achieving them; take appropriate corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of team/personal objectives.
- Communicate the actions needed to implement the function's strategy and business plan within the team; explain the relationship to the broader organization's mission, vision, and values; motivate people to commit to these and to do extraordinary things to achieve local business goals

- Expert to interpret and apply knowledge of laws, regulations, and policies in area of expertise.

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:
· Juris Doctorate with excellent academic credentials and minimum of eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in litigation or relevant practice area(s).
