Here at IDS (a Revvity company) we are currently seeking an ADS Technician to join us for a period of 12 months on a fixed term contract.
IDS are the leading in-vitro diagnostic solution provider to the clinical and research laboratory markets. With over 30 years of expertise, we develop (in-house), manufacture and market innovative and high-quality immunoassays and instruments.
Role Responsibilities:
The ASD Technician is accountable for:
- Supporting development of new products with the Project Leader.
- Ensure Laboratory is maintained and equipment is calibrated.
- Ensure the iSYS instrument is fit for purpose.
- Ensure compliance with the IDS Quality System.
ASD Technician tasks and deliverables:
- Performing daily assays.
- Manufacture of R&D buffers and reagents.
- Conducting accurate laboratory records as required.
- Compilation of data in preparation for analysis by the Project Leader.
- Perform laboratory maintenance.
- Perform routine equipment calibration.
- Perform daily/weekly/monthly iSYS maintenance as required.
- Reporting of iSYS status and repairs to appropriate department.
- Uphold accurate laboratory records in accordance with IDS Quality System. Lab records include data analysis and full experimental details
- Manage own time on day by day basis.
- Support the preparation of draft production procedures and QC procedures.
- Support the writing of protocols/reports for verification and validation studies.
- Perform other duties as required from time to time
- If training has been received, the ASD Technician will be expected to perform low level repairs to the iSYS instrument as required.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree or equivalent in a Scientific subject.
Skills & Knowledge:
- An understanding of immunoassay techniques.
- Knowledge of relevant biochemical methods and technologies.
- Knowledge of IDS products.
- Ability to work to deadlines.
- Ability to work alone with limited supervision.
- Ability to work as a team.
- Ability to operate relevant equipment as required.
- Ability to work to IDS procedures.
- Competent in use of MS Excel and MS Word.
- Good communication skills.
Experience:
- Experience gained from education through a Bachelor degree
- Experience gained from previous employment
