Make your mark at one of the biggest names in payments. We’re looking for a Senior Scrum Master to join our ever-evolving Alternative Payment Methods team and help shape the future of global commerce.
What you’ll own
The Senior Scrum Master is a servant leader and coach for agile teams. You own facilitation, adoption and upholding of Agile principles to ensure adherence to the theory, practices, and application of Scrum in a Scaled Agile context.
Senior Scrum Masters typically fulfil the following responsibilities:
- Supports Product Owners by utilizing collaborative techniques and communication strategies for efficient backlog management.
- Promotes self-organizing, cross-functional techniques in the production of high-value products.
- Support Scrum teams by removing impediments to protect sprint goals.
- Facilitates Scrum ceremonies as requested or needed, maintains time-box ceremonies.
- Co-ordinates with other teams delivering to shared goals e.g. using Scrum of Scrums ceremonies as needed.
- Practices the core agile principles in collaboration, prioritization, accountability.
- Promotes continuous improvement throughout the product cycle, and maintains the teams’ improvement backlogs.
- Facilitates sprint demos, planning and retrospectives.
- Provides status reporting and insights on key metrics, schedules, resources and milestone delivery.
- Other related duties assigned as needed.
What you’ll bring
- Strong understanding of agile principles and practices
- Strong mediation and negotiation skills
- Skill in organization, communications, problem-solving and people skills
- Positive outlook, strong work ethic, and responsive to internal and external clients and contacts
- Experience in of leveraging tools such as Jira and Rally to enhance agile practices and flow
- The ability to:
- Foster a culture of openness, and the appreciate openness in others
- Create an environment of trust and mutual influence
- Support teams in problem identification and decision-making
- Think beyond day-to-day activities and apply systems thinking
- Bring simplicity to complex situations
- Listen actively and understand / empathize with others
- Coach people with powerful questions rather than use authority
- Easily build new relationships and proactively establish a variety of contacts across the organization
- A Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience in agile principles
- Certifications such as Certified Scrum Master or Professional Scrum Master preferred
- Knowledge of Agile development principles
It’s a bonus if you have
- A background in payments, fintech, or a similar regulated environment.
