A Day in the Life
Join a multidisciplinary R&D team that develops and sustains innovative surgical platforms that help improve patient health. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will apply design-engineering expertise, hands-on technical skills, teamwork, and creative problem-solving to deliver high-quality medical devices used by healthcare professionals and patients worldwide. You will be part of the Released Product Management R&D team, collaborating across engineering, quality, manufacturing, and other functions to support and improve complex surgical platforms throughout their product lifecycle.
This is a hybrid position with the office located in Caesarea. You will report to the R&D released product manager.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Develop and implement mechanical design improvements for released products, including changes that enhance system reliability and scalable manufacturing
- Design, qualify, and document test fixtures, jigs, and tools, and provide engineering support for testing activities
- Support product configuration control and engineering change management processes
- Collaborate with external suppliers on component selection, manufacturing, and assembly
- Establish robust processes for analysing field failures and work with cross-functional engineering teams to define and implement corrective actions
- Lead technical investigations into product and process issues, using structured root-cause analysis to define and implement effective corrective actions
- Investigate audit findings and process flows, identify underlying gaps, and translate findings into practical engineering improvements
- Partner with Quality as the primary point of contact during internal and external audits
- Lead R&D corrective and preventive action activities and prepare clear, evidence-based responses to audit findings
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent with at least 3 years of Product design/NPI/Engineering experience. Medical device experience – an advantage.
- Extensive experience with highly accurate machined parts, sheet metal parts, and mechanisms.
- Experience in CAD tools such as SolidWorks is expected.
- Strong knowledge of metal and plastic component manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge on Engineering Change management processes and PLM tools such as PTC Windchill.
- Highly organized, excellent problem-solving skills and good team player
- Able to effectively work with cross functional teams in a multinational matrix organization
- Strong written and verbal communication skills both Hebrew and English
Good understanding of medical device standards, guidelines, and regulations, such as: ISO10993, IEC60601. and experience with Process Validations and qualification of equipment IQ/OQ/PQ, pFMEA are nice to have.
