Job Summary
Kaseya is seeking a Software Engineer I to support the development of cloud-based IT operations and device management platforms. This role will contribute to building, testing, maintaining, and improving software that helps organizations manage, monitor, and secure their technology environments. The ideal candidate is an early-career engineer with strong fundamentals, a willingness to learn, and the ability to contribute effectively within a collaborative engineering team.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop, test, debug, and maintain software features under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Contribute to platform components, including backend services, APIs, tools, integrations, and user-facing functionality.
- Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, team discussions, and troubleshooting activities.
- Write clean, maintainable code that follows team standards for quality, security, testing, and documentation.
- Assist with bug fixes, technical investigations, automated tests, and product improvements.
- Collaborate with engineers, QA, product, UX/UI, and operations teams to support successful feature delivery.
- Learn and apply modern software development practices, including agile delivery, CI/CD, automated testing, and DevOps fundamentals.
- Communicate progress, questions, and blockers clearly to team members and managers.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 1+ year of software engineering experience, internship experience, or relevant project experience.
- Foundational programming experience with languages such as Java, C#, .NET, or similar technologies.
- Basic understanding of databases, APIs, software design principles, debugging, and automated testing.
- Ability to learn quickly, collaborate effectively, and contribute in a fast-paced engineering environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to SaaS applications, cloud-hosted systems, enterprise software platforms, or cybersecurity solutions.
- Familiarity with MySQL, SQL, AWS, REST APIs, CI/CD tools, source control, or agile development practices.
- Experience contributing to production software, academic projects, internships, open-source projects, or technical team projects.
- Interest in automation, cloud technologies, distributed systems, developer platforms, or infrastructure engineering.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and willingness to ask questions and seek feedback.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
