Employer description
The Staff Pharmacist is responsible for providing accurate medication dispensing, patient counselling, and ensuring compliance with all provincial and federal regulations. The successful candidate will utilize available patient information to assess medication history and provide appropriate clinical recommendations. The Pharmacist also ensures that prescriptions are filled promptly, meet all health and safety requirements, and support the needs of both the pharmacy team and the community it serves.

Responsibilities
- Provide safe, effective, and patient-centered dispensing of prescriptions
- Counsel patients on proper medication use, potential side effects, and interactions
- Administer vaccines and other injections in accordance with Alberta regulations, and consistent with recommendations by health authorities
- Support and expand clinical services, such as medication reviews, compliance packaging, and chronic disease management
- Act as a liaison with nearby clinics, healthcare providers and other community stakeholders to coordinate patient centric care
- Ensure full compliance with privacy and confidentiality requirements including consent management
Qualifications
- Licensed and in good standing with the Alberta College of Pharmacy
- Administer drugs by injection certification
- Prior community pharmacy experience (preferred)
- Additional prescribing authorization (APA) (preferred)
- Knowledge of pharmacy operations, regulatory standards, and best practices
- Attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy
- Outstanding communication, and interpersonal skills both written and verbal
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and similar apps
- Kroll experience (preferred)
