What you will do
- General Ledger & Month-End Close: Own the month-end close from start to finish, including journal entries, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, and intercompany transactions. Prepare and review account reconciliations and ensure the accuracy and completeness of the company's financial reporting.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules. Provide variance analysis and account-level detail to support business and leadership decision-making.
- Statutory & Tax Compliance (Mexico): Ensure compliance with Mexican accounting and tax requirements, including CFDI/electronic invoicing, SAT filings, and monthly and annual returns (IVA, ISR, DIOT). Partner with external tax advisors and accountants to meet all local filing deadlines.
- Accounting Operations: Oversee AP, AR, and expense processes, including invoice and payment accuracy, vendor and customer records, and reconciliations. Partner with the Planning & Analysis team to provide timely, accurate information.
- Audit & Controls: Support internal and external audit requests, maintain accurate historical records and documentation, and help strengthen internal controls and accounting policies.

- Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements that increase efficiency and accuracy. Assist in the development and implementation of new systems, tools, and procedures.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with the product team in developing features to improve the functionality of Jeeves's product, and with external providers, banks, and advisors as needed.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPC or equivalent certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including ownership of month-end close and general ledger.
- Strong working knowledge of Mexican accounting standards (NIF) and local tax and statutory requirements; exposure to IFRS or US GAAP is a plus.
- Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, NetSuite, Contpaqi).
- Strong knowledge of MS Office and Google Workspace, particularly Excel/Sheets.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise, deep familiarity with Mexican statutory and tax requirements, and a keen attention to detail. This role owns core general ledger and month-end close activities, ensures the accuracy of our financial records, and partners across the business to keep our accounting operations accurate, compliant, and scalable.
