We are seeking an Estimating Manager to join the team in New Jersey. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for an experienced estimating professional who enjoys building teams, improving processes, and driving operational excellence across a multi-location business. The role offers strong visibility with executive leadership, long-term growth potential, and participation in the company's continued expansion strategy.
What You'll Do as the Estimating Manager:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of construction estimators across multiple operating locations
- Oversee project estimates, quantity takeoffs, bid packages, and proposal submissions
- Establish and maintain consistent estimating standards, processes, and best practices
- Review bids for accuracy, competitiveness, and compliance with public agency requirements
- Partner with operations, project management, procurement, and executive leadership teams
- Track estimating performance, bid results, margins, and key business metrics
- Identify opportunities to improve estimating workflows, systems, and reporting
- Support integration efforts as the organization continues to grow through acquisition
- Help drive operational efficiency, profitability, and long-term scalability across the region
- Serve as a subject matter expert on pricing strategy, risk evaluation, and bid execution
Must-Haves as the Estimating Manager:
- 7+ years of construction estimating experience
- Prior leadership experience managing estimators or estimating teams
- Experience estimating transportation, infrastructure, public works, DOT, or heavy civil projects
- Strong understanding of competitive bidding, public procurement, and bid preparation processes
- Experience implementing or improving estimating procedures and operational workflows
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Nice-to-Haves as the Estimating Manager:
- Experience with roadway safety, highway infrastructure, guardrail, fencing, or traffic systems
- Heavy civil, site development, or transportation construction estimating experience
- Background supporting acquisitions, integrations, or multi-location operations
- Strong business acumen with experience managing performance metrics and KPIs
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Business, or a related field
- MBA or formal leadership training
