Job Description
Designing a better world is more than a career, it’s a calling! Come work with a team of professionals dedicated to design excellence at Coffman Engineers’ Anchorage office.
Landscape Architect/Planner/Site Designer: Do you have a minimum of eight years of working experience with landscape and site design projects? Do you have experience designing parks, understanding the community engagement process, commercial/military projects, and coordinating with multi-disciplinary design teams? Do you have a desire to integrate indigenous culture into the built environment? Do you want to work in Alaska? If so, we want to talk to you!
The ideal candidate for this position is a strategic thinker, self-starter, and works well in a team environment. Responsibilities include all aspects of design, production of construction documents and project management. To be successful in this role, you will have a background working with architectural/engineering firms, the ability to work independently on multiple simultaneous projects, and excellent time management skills. This position requires proficiency in drawing both three dimensions and two dimensions to convey the design intent during concept design through construction documentation. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are vitally important in maintaining efficiency in our high-functioning teams.
Additionally, the position involves managing project milestones and deliverables, ensuring that all work is completed on time, within scope, and within budget. Effective coordination with cross-functional teams and external consultants is essential to ensure that design specifications and quality standards are consistently met. This role requires some previous experience in architectural or engineering firms, the ability to independently manage multiple project deliverables with strong prioritization and time management, and exceptional communication skills for effective collaboration. A proactive approach to continuous improvement and problem-solving is also essential.
