This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Academic and Athletic Compliance Coordinator based in United States.
This role supports institutional compliance across student enrollment, financial aid, academic records, and collegiate athletics. You will work closely with the Registrar and cross-functional teams to maintain accurate, compliant student and enrollment data. The position plays an important role in federal reporting, regulatory requirements, and audit readiness. You will also evaluate student-athlete eligibility and coordinate certification activities under applicable athletic regulations. The role combines data analysis, regulatory interpretation, record management, and student and staff support. Success requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage sensitive information accurately. Accountabilities
- Compile, review, analyze, and maintain student enrollment data, ensuring accuracy and integrity for required federal and institutional reporting.
- Prepare and submit enrollment information to the National Student Clearinghouse, investigate discrepancies, and correct source or reporting data when necessary.
- Respond to National Student Loan Database System (NSLDS) Student Status Confirmation Report requests, researching flagged records and coordinating updates or follow-up with students.
- Monitor and communicate effective dates for course drops, withdrawals, and other enrollment changes using academic activity, system records, and supporting documentation.
- Provide accurate reports and documentation to stakeholders, including Financial Aid and VA School Certifying Officials, to support compliance and audit readiness.
- Assess initial and continuing athletic eligibility by reviewing transcripts, test scores, eligibility records, and supporting documentation against applicable athletic association and institutional requirements.
- Coordinate with athletic leadership, faculty representatives, coaches, and student-athletes to resolve eligibility issues and submit required eligibility rosters and documentation.
- Compile and distribute individual and team athletic data for recognition programs and other institutional reporting needs.
- Collaborate with Enrollment Services, Financial Aid, Accounting, and other departments to evaluate retroactive withdrawal requests and determine appropriate effective dates based on regulations and institutional policy.
- Execute administrative withdrawal processes, including communications, reporting, record review, and batch or individual withdrawals.
- Respond to student and faculty/staff inquiries by phone and email while supporting broader registrar functions such as transcripts, enrollment and degree verification, grading, graduation, degree checks, and course scheduling.
- Maintain accurate records of academic programs offered across campus locations and assist with special projects and departmental priorities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required, with at least two years of relevant professional experience.
- Previous experience working in higher education is required, particularly in an environment involving academic records, enrollment, compliance, or student services.
- Strong proficiency with computer applications, particularly Microsoft Excel and the analysis of large datasets.
- Experience with Jenzabar or another Student Information System (SIS) is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with exceptional attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Ability to interpret, apply, and communicate complex federal, state, institutional, and athletic rules and regulations.
- Knowledge of Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) requirements and the importance of protecting confidential student information.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, staff, administrators, and athletic personnel.
- Sound professional judgment and the ability to enforce policies and regulations consistently and appropriately.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, investigate discrepancies, meet reporting requirements, and collaborate across departments.
