Who we’re looking for:
Toyota Financial Services Enterprise Platforms team is seeking a highly motivated Senior Software Engineer to help our growing Enterprise platform needs. The Senior Java Developer will build on their passion for software engineering and combine with skills for operational excellence to enhance & manage platforms. Along with willingness to take an active role in their career trajectory; the Senior Java Developer tasked with working with product owners to understand business requirements, integrating architectural direction into designs and producing comprehensive functional/technical code for platforms and applications.
This position is based in Plano, TX. The selected candidate will be expected to reside within a commutable distance of this location.
What you’ll be doing
- Collaborate with and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions in full-stack development tools and technologies.
- Continues to operational excellence on deliveries, building fault tolerant and secure services
- Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, mentoring other members of the engineering community.
- Collaborate with Product Owners and deliver robust cloud-based solutions that drive powerful experiences to help millions of Americans achieve financial empowerment.
- Utilize programming languages like JavaScript, Python, Java, Spring Boot, TypeScript, and SQL.
- Design and deliver solutions that leverage RDBMS and NoSQL Databases, Container Orchestration Services including Docker and Kubernetes, and a variety of AWS tools and services.
- Experience with designing and building event driven systems for asynchronous communication between systems and components
- Contribute to team development including recruiting efforts, mentorship, and promoting Agile best practices.
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree or higher with 5 or more years of experience in technical discipline, including computer science, computer engineering, information systems, and information technology.
- Intermediate to advanced programming skills in one or more modern languages such as Java, Spring Boot, Nodejs, ReactJS, TypeScript, Java or Python to design, develop and maintain customer experiences on AWS cloud platform.
- Proven track record delivering Kubernetes-based microservices on AWS in a regulated or compliance-sensitive environment.
- Strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills
- Skilled at delivering high-quality, clean, and reusable code using Test-Driven Development (TDD), object-oriented design, and testing for responsive web applications.
- Strong proficiency in developing scalable and resilient REST microservices APIs.
- Experience building software using design patterns, best practices, and coding standards.
- Demonstrated experience with version control practices, including branching, merging, and code review processes.
- Experience building observable systems to track the performance of distributed services, trace issues, and troubleshoot failures.
- Conduct peer/code reviews to maintain the code quality before promoting the code to production.
Added bonus if you have
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance frameworks: SOX, PCI-DSS, or GDPR.
- Experience with AI Coding assistant.
- AWS Certifications (Certified Developer – Associate/Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional/Certified Solutions Architect – Professional)
