Join PlayStation's global initiative to build innovative test automation solutions within a sophisticated engineering environment. You’ll work closely with engineers, product owners and designers to ensure high-quality products and services for millions of users.

This role has a particular focus on backend and data quality, so we’re looking for an experienced SDET with strong automation skills alongside hands-on experience testing databases, SQL and modern data platforms such as Snowflake and Databricks.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and execute comprehensive test strategies, test plans and test cases across UI, API, backend and data systems.
  • Develop and execute SQL-based testing and validation to ensure data accuracy, integrity and consistency across systems.
  • Test and validate data pipelines, transformations and workflows across platforms such as Snowflake and Databricks.
  • Collaborate closely with software engineers, product managers and cross-functional teams to define test coverage and quality goals early in the development lifecycle.
  • Build, maintain and scale robust automation frameworks for UI, API, backend and end-to-end testing.
  • Develop reusable test utilities, APIs and libraries to improve efficiency and consistency in automation.
  • Maintain and enhance existing automation frameworks using technologies such as Python and Selenium.
  • Partner with infrastructure teams to design, implement and optimise CI/CD pipelines and quality gates.
  • Analyse test results and data, identify root causes of defects and work with development teams to drive timely resolution.
  • Continuously improve quality engineering practices by introducing new standards, tools and processes.
  • Advocate for a shift-left testing approach, embedding quality practices throughout the software development lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in software testing, quality engineering or test automation.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with test automation across API, backend and/or UI systems.
  • Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience testing and validating databases and data.
  • Experience working with Snowflake, Databricks or comparable modern data platforms.
  • Experience testing data pipelines, data transformations and/or ETL/ELT workflows.
