ABOUT THE ROLE
Amrize, a leading supplier of quality, construction building materials in the United States, has immediate openings for a Production Engineer II in our Asphalt division.The Production Engineer II is responsible for supporting and optimizing asphalt production operations to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and consistent production while meeting quality and project requirements. This role will analyze production processes, troubleshoot operational issues, monitor materials and equipment performance, and collaborate with plant and field teams to improve safety, productivity, and overall operational performance.
WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH
- Monitor and optimize asphalt production processes to meet daily production requirements.
- Coordinate with plant, paving, quality control, and operations teams to support efficient production.
- Review production data, material usage, and equipment performance to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Help ensure asphalt mix production meets approved specifications and quality standards.
- Troubleshoot production issues and work with operations teams to resolve process or equipment-related problems.
- Monitor raw material usage, including aggregates, asphalt binder, and other mix components.
- Assist with production scheduling and planning to support project and customer requirements.
- Analyze production costs, waste, downtime, and productivity to identify efficiency opportunities.
- Support plant and equipment improvement projects designed to increase reliability and production capacity.
- Develop and maintain production reports, performance metrics, and operational documentation.
- Work with maintenance teams to identify recurring equipment issues that may affect production.
- Ensure production activities follow company safety procedures and applicable environmental requirements.
- Assist with process improvements, standard operating procedures, and implementation of new production methods.
- Provide technical support and guidance to plant and field operations when production-related issues arise.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and cost efficiency

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, or related engineering field.
- Required Work Experience: 2–4 years of engineering or production experience in asphalt, aggregates, construction, manufacturing, or a related industrial environment.
- Travel Requirements: Travel between asphalt plants, project sites, and company locations as needed to support production operations, process improvement initiatives, and field or plant activities.
- Experience in asphalt, aggregates, construction, manufacturing, or related production operations.
- Strong understanding of production processes, process improvement, and operational efficiency.
- Ability to analyze production data and identify trends, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
- Experience troubleshooting production, equipment, and process-related issues.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively with plant operations, maintenance, quality control, and field teams.
- Understanding of asphalt materials, mix production, and applicable quality standards is preferred.
- Ability to monitor material usage, production rates, waste, downtime, and operating costs.
- Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and the ability to work with production and operational data.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, continuous improvement, and achieving production goals.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
