What you will do

  • Provide advice on a variety of employment-related legal matters, including:
  • Advising on employment law matters across multiple jurisdictions, with an emphasis on US employment and labor law, while including other global jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with local regulations and company policies.
  • Providing guidance on labor relations, including negotiations, collective bargaining agreements, and dispute resolution.
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating employment-related agreements, including contracts, non-disclosure agreements, and separation agreements.
  • Assisting with employee relations issues, including investigations, and working closely with the compliance team on management of compliance investigations and hotline reporting, grievances, and disciplinary actions.

Employer description

Our client, a multinational organization, has exclusively retained Solutus Legal Search to assist its executives in hiring an attorney to serve as Lead Employment Counsel. This attorney will join a highly experienced legal team and advise on a broad range of labor and employment matters.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advice on a variety of employment-related legal matters, including:
  • Advising on employment law matters across multiple jurisdictions, with an emphasis on US employment and labor law, while including other global jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with local regulations and company policies.
  • Providing guidance on labor relations, including negotiations, collective bargaining agreements, and dispute resolution.
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating employment-related agreements, including contracts, non-disclosure agreements, and separation agreements.
  • Assisting with employee relations issues, including investigations, and working closely with the compliance team on management of compliance investigations and hotline reporting, grievances, and disciplinary actions.
  • Supporting the development and implementation of company-wide employment policies and training programs.
  • Identifying, assessing, and mitigating legal risks associated with employment practices, implementing proactive strategies and best practices.

Education & Experience

  • Strong academic credentials, including a J.D. or equivalent degree from a well-respected U.S. law school.
  • License to practice in at least one state.
  • 6+ years relevant working experience, with strong training at an international law firm.
  • Deep understanding of U.S. federal and state employment laws. International experience is a plus.
  • Proven ability to navigate a range of complex employment-related legal issues.
  • Proactive and strategic with substantial experience in employment law.

This is an excellent role with a top-notch team. Compensation is targeted at an annual base salary of $225,000 - $260,000, plus an 30% target annual bonus, and excellent benefits including a highly competitive 401K match.
