Position Summary:
Reporting to the Manager, Product Marketing the Sales Analyst contributes to the strategic sales delivery process by providing detailed reporting and analysis to support adoption of UFA’s customer-centric business model across UFA’s petroleum, crop inputs, and retail sales areas.
The Sales Analyst will collaborate with UFA’s operations, finance, and IT functions to provide data-driven insights that fuel revenue and profit growth across the UFA footprint. This role will be active in supporting UFA’s sales groups by identifying customer targets as well as conducting research and analysis that aid in the development of future sales initiatives. In addition, this role will be involved in ad hoc analysis & supporting marketing teams to develop campaign audience list.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Assist product marketing team in designing, developing, and deploying Excel and Power BI reporting tools for UFA’s sales and management teams.
- Manage Power BI workspace, including report deployment, access control, workspace organization, and governance best practices.
- Provide reporting of ongoing sales initiatives and financing programs to sales management and product strategy teams.
- Collaborate with field sales groups, sales management, and product strategy groups to gather and aggregate customer, competitor, and market data that can be used to improve pricing competitiveness, margins, and market share for UFA.
- Provide ad-hoc data and reporting to UFA sales teams and management upon request.
- Develop, validate, and deliver targeted customer and prospect lists to support marketing campaigns across multiple channels.
- Collaborate with UFA’s Petroleum sales and pricing teams to understand reporting requirements, deliver actionable insights, and identify opportunities to drive business growth and cross-selling initiatives.
- Assist in SAP and Microsoft Dynamics system enhancement projects as needed.
- Identify automation opportunities across UFA’s sales processes to improve efficiency.
Qualifications required for the position:
- Post-secondary undergraduate degree in data science, finance or accounting required.
- 2+ years’ experience working in an analytics and reporting role, accounting or finance is required.
- Intermediate to advanced Power BI skills (DAX queries, data visualization, data modelling) required.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) is required.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics and SAP ERP systems considered an asset.
- Data & analytics skillset with ability to synthesize and communicate analysis outcomes and findings to various audiences.
- Oil and gas, fuel distribution, or agricultural industry background preferred.
- Professional Accounting or Finance designation (or progress towards) considered an asset.
- Energetic attitude with a desire to learn about UFA’s diverse business lines and collaborate with stakeholders in front and back-end functions.
