Recognized for our high level of technical expertise in a variety of engineering disciplines, we’re involved across the development lifecycle – from research to the building, testing and delivery of completed products. Innovators in our field, we lead the way in exploring new concepts, approaches, processes, materials and components.

What you’ll achieve:

As a Materials Research Engineer and key contributor to our engineering organization, you will drive the development of advanced infrastructure solutions for next-generation computing technologies, with an emphasis on liquid cooling systems. Working closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams, you will support research and development, product qualification, and failure analysis initiatives through rigorous testing, materials characterization, and data-driven technical insights.

Join us to do the best work of your career and make a profound social impact as a Materials Research Engineer on our Hardware Engineering team in Austin, Texas.

Responsibilities

You will:

  • Partner with research and development teams to develop and evaluate new materials for computer hardware applications, with a focus on liquid cooling systems, while performing hands-on material characterization, testing, and analysis
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on existing and future fluid and chemical analysis instrumentation, including Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-OES), High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), and Ion Chromatography (IC), and provide technical guidance on analytical methods and results
  • Lead and support failure analysis and product qualification activities, leveraging data-driven insights to identify root causes and improve material and system performance
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement capital equipment acquisitions and upgrades, while contributing to the development and adoption of artificial intelligence-enabled laboratory workflows
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation to communicate findings, recommendations, and project progress to stakeholders across engineering, manufacturing, and quality organizations
