Job Overview:
As a part of the Construction Support group, this position will serve a supporting support role to Operations for activities including but not limited to: topographic survey, grading, pile installation, and as-built data collection. This person will interface regularly with in-field survey staff, project teams, and General Superintendents.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Will be responsible for creating 3D designs at the 30% package and updating the design as new packages/revisions are published. This individual will need to have the ability to assist in verifying Primoris build standards when checking the EOR revisions based on approved submittals. Candidate will alert General Superintendents and assigned project survey staff of any large changes that impact design, construction specifications and construction methods to produce a quality product.
- Will work with field personnel to receive feedback from site Superintendents, Survey Party Chiefs and the project team to determine if existing methods need to be updated or refined, based on project conditions.
- Will work with Preconstruction & Operations during the project planning stage. Lessons learned from prior projects shall be considered in the new deliverables produced by this individual.
- Support the site team with the necessary files that are being provided by the Project Design Lead or Project Engineer on each project to ensure adequate planning for site team needs.
- Perform analyses such as tracker slope validation and surface to surface comparisons to ensure pile heights and finished grade are per the EOR design.
- Produce heat maps from surface comparisons for us by civil subcontractors or the mechanical crews to adjust earthwork/tracker piles accordingly.
- Convert .CSV files provided by the EOR into VCL files to provide to the site teams.
- May at times visit proposed project sites to support Site Investigation teams or active project sites to stay current on means & methods.
- Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.
Preferred Skills/Abilities:
- Must have a valid driver license and an acceptable motor vehicle driving record (MVR).
- Thorough knowledge of CAD programs (Trimble Business Center, AutoCAD, Civil3D, etc.)
- Strong communication skills to convey concerns, analytical data, and job constraints.
- Ability to read and understand prints and contract documents.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- A four-year degree and/or equivalent combinations of training and/or related experience.
- Minimum three years in construction with specializations in CAD and/or equivalent project experience. Candidate needs to have the ability to understand, interpret, and convert the civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical construction prints into a 3D environment.
Pay Equity:
$100,000 - $135,000

This compensation range is based on a full-time schedule.
