Group Pilates Instructor – Spark Studio

The Group Pilates Instructor is responsible for delivering exceptional group fitness classes in

Reformer Pilates, Mat Pilates, Barre and Sculpt. The instructor will create a safe, motivating, and

inclusive environment where members of varying fitness levels can achieve their goals while

receiving high-quality coaching and an outstanding studio experience.

Key Responsibilities

Group Class Delivery

• Deliver engaging, high-energy group classes in Reformer Pilates, Mat Pilates, Barre and

Sculpt in accordance with the studio's programming standards.

• Lead classes with clear instruction, effective demonstrations, and coaching cues to ensure

proper technique and movement quality.

• Provide appropriate exercise modifications and progressions to accommodate varying

fitness levels, mobility, and experience.

• Monitor participants throughout each session, offering individual guidance and

corrections while maintaining the flow of the class.

• Ensure classes begin and end on schedule while maintaining a professional and energetic

atmosphere.

• Foster a welcoming, motivating, and inclusive environment that encourages participation

and member retention.

Member Experience

• Build positive relationships with members and create an engaging studio community.
• Welcome members before class and provide assistance with equipment setup where

required.

• Encourage consistent attendance through exceptional coaching and customer service.
• Maintain a positive, supportive, and professional attitude during all interactions.
• Address member questions regarding exercises, movement patterns, and class

expectations.

Safety & Compliance

• Conduct classes in accordance with company policies, safety procedures, and industry

best practices.

• Inspect Reformers and other equipment before use and report any maintenance issues

promptly.

• Screen participants for injuries, medical conditions, or exercise limitations before class

where appropriate.• Ensure members use equipment safely and correctly throughout the session.

• Respond appropriately to incidents and emergencies.
• Maintain valid CPR/AED and First Aid certification.

Professional Development

• Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and continuing education opportunities.
• Maintain relevant certifications and remain up to date with current fitness and Pilates

industry trends.

• Contribute ideas to enhance class programming, member engagement, and the overall

studio experience.

Qualifications

Required

• Recognized certification in Pilates instruction (Mat and/or Reformer).
• Certification or demonstrated competency in one or more of the following:

o Reformer Pilates

o Mat Pilates

o Barre

o Sculpt

o Lagree

• Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification.
• Experience leading group fitness or Pilates classes.
• Strong understanding of anatomy, biomechanics, exercise technique, and injury

prevention.

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Sports Science, Exercise Science, Physiotherapy,

Kinesiology, or a related field.

• Experience in a boutique fitness or Pilates studio environment.
• Multiple specialty certifications across Pilates and functional fitness disciplines.
