About the Role:
As a Finance Associate, you will play a key role in managing and streamlining the financial operations of our SaaS startup. A major focus of this role will be handling payment processing and ensuring the smooth flow of transactions, including credit card networks (Visa, MasterCard, etc.). You will also support core accounting and finance functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial operations.
Payment Processing & Reconciliation
- Manage and monitor payment processing workflows (credit card, Visa, MasterCard, and other gateways).
- Reconcile payment settlements, chargebacks, and transaction discrepancies.
- Ensure timely resolution of payment-related issues with providers and banks.
Financial Operations & Accounting
- Record journal entries, reconcile bank and payment processor statements, and maintain accurate ledgers.
- Manage accounts payable/receivable and assist in timely invoicing and collections.
- Support preparation of monthly and annual financial reports.
Financial Analysis & Reporting
- Track and report transaction volumes, fees, and trends.
- Provide insights on payment costs, cash flow, and revenue optimization.
Compliance & Process Improvement
- Ensure compliance with financial policies and payment regulations.
- Collaborate with auditors, accountants, and payment providers.
- Recommend improvements for accuracy, efficiency, and fraud prevention.
What are we looking for?
- 1–3 years of experience in finance, accounting, or payment operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. (CPA/CA/CMA a plus).
- Strong knowledge of payment processing (credit cards, Visa, MasterCard, etc.) along with accounting fundamentals.
- Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and familiarity with accounting/ERP tools (QuickBooks, NetSuite, or equivalent).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred (Not Mandatory):
- Prior experience in SaaS, tech startups, or the hospitality/restaurant tech sector.
- Knowledge of US GAAP and experience with US-based entities.
- Exposure to fundraising, investor reporting, or financial modeling.
