Job Overview:

Job Summary**

The Quality Field Tech will be responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of construction projects in the field, primarily focusing on adherence to specifications, plans, and industry standards. This role involves performing inspections, documenting findings, and collaborating with project teams to resolve quality-related issues.

Job Responsibilities**

  • Conduct routine and specialized quality inspections of construction activities, materials, and workmanship according to project plans, specifications, and relevant codes.
  • Document inspection results thoroughly, including observations, measurements, photographs, and non-conformance reports.
  • Identify deviations from quality standards and communicate findings promptly to project management, superintendents, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with project teams to implement corrective actions and verify their effective execution.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of quality control documentation and records.
  • Perform material testing and sampling as required, ensuring proper procedures are followed.
  • Verify proper installation and functionality of various systems and components.
  • Participate in pre-construction meetings to understand project quality requirements and potential challenges.
  • Support the quality management system by adhering to established procedures and contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies at all times while performing duties in the field.

Job Qualifications**

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or technical certification in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality control or quality assurance within the construction industry, preferably in civil, pipeline, or heavy industrial sectors.
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and industry standards (e.g., ASME, API, AWS, ASTM).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents accurately.
  • Proficiency in using various inspection tools and equipment (e.g., tape measures, calipers, gauges).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear and concise reporting.
  • Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently in a field environment and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required, as travel to various job sites is essential.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CWI, NACE, ACI) are a significant plus.
