About the Role
The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) plays a critical role in ensuring the quality, reliability, manufacturability, and long-term performance of YETI products through the development and management of a world-class supplier network. With primary responsibility for Bags & Luggage category, the SQE partners closely with suppliers and cross functional teams throughout the product lifecycle from supplier qualification and new product introduction through production launch and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge of manufacturing and quality systems with the ability to influence suppliers, solve complex problems, and drive continuous improvement across a global supply chain.
While the primary focus of the role is Bags & Luggage manufacturing, the SQE may also provide quality engineering support across other product categories, including apparel, drinkware, injection molding, and related manufacturing technologies. This position offers a unique opportunity to directly influence the quality and reliability of YETI's premium products while helping build a high-performing supplier ecosystem that supports innovation, growth, and operational excellence.
What You'll Do
Overall, promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout YETI's supplier network and internal teams through the following:
Supplier Quality & Manufacturing Readiness – Assess, qualify, and onboard new suppliers through capability assessments, process audits, and risk evaluations. Driving APQP activities and PPAP approval to ensure manufacturing readiness for new product launches. Partner with suppliers to establish robust manufacturing controls and quality systems. Evaluating process capability and manufacturing performance to ensure consistent product quality.
Supplier Development & Continuous Improvement - Partner with suppliers to establish and maintain manufacturing processes capable of consistently delivering high-quality products including engaging with suppliers for Process Improvement and Problem Solving to reduce variation, improve process capability and enhance process and product performance. Ability to analyze pre-shipment, field, warranty, and reliability data to identify quality trends and improvement opportunities. Work with suppliers through investigations using methodologies such as 8D, A3, DMAIC, Fishbone Analysis etc.
Change Management & Compliance - Partner with suppliers and internal stakeholders to manage product and process changes through established change management processes utilizing risk assessments, validation activities, and PPAP compliance prior to implementation.
Cross Functional Collaboration & New Product Introduction through APQP - Partner with Product Development, Manufacturing Engineering, and Sourcing teams to ensure quality requirements are incorporated early in product and process development. Leading the supplier through the APQP process to achieve PPAP execution and approval to ensure manufacturing readiness and robust process controls.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Textile Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline required.
- 4+ years of engineering experience in environments utilizing APQP methodologies.
- Experience supporting supplier quality, manufacturing engineering, product development, or related functions.
- Experience supporting new product introduction and supplier qualification activities preferred.
- Experience working within a global manufacturing and supply chain environment.
- Familiarity with international quality management systems and standards such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and related quality frameworks.

- Cut-and-sew operations
- RF welding
- Woven and knit fabrics
- Nonwoven materials
- Laminated textiles
- Adhesives
- Metal components
- Plastic components
- Dyeing and printing processes
- Injection molding
Professional Skills
- Analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to assess risk and make sound, timely decisions.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, including fluency in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Collaborative mindset with a strong commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
- Proficiency in Vietnamese is expected; Mandarin language skills are a plus.
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
