About the role
We are seeking a full time, reliable, safety-focused and detail-oriented Warehouse & Logistics Officer to join our Stafford warehouse team.
This is a hands-on and varied role involving warehouse operations, inventory control, kit preparation, domestic freight, pick-pack-dispatch activities, truck and container loading, mechanical handling equipment operation and operational systems administration.
Key responsibilities:
Warehouse and Inventory Operations
- Accurate and efficient velocity picking, put-away and stock replenishment activities within required timeframes.
- Monitor pick-face stock levels and initiate replenishment activities to prevent delays to picking operations.
- Inventory transactions, pick confirmations, put-away confirmations and stock movements accurately and on time using company warehouse, ERP and operational systems.
- Participate in scheduled stocktakes and promptly report inventory discrepancies.
Safety, Dangerous Goods and Compliance
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety across all warehouse activities.
- Promptly identify and report hazards, incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions.
- Maintain clean, organised and safe work areas.
- Participate in required WHS training and safety initiatives.
- Ensure safe work practices are consistently applied when handling stock, operating mechanical handling equipment, loading vehicles and preparing freight.
Sustainability and Continuous Improvement
- Support sustainability initiatives and waste-reduction practices across warehouse operations.
- Identify opportunities to improve safety, efficiency, inventory accuracy and service delivery.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement within the warehouse team.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A current forklift licence (LF), which is mandatory for this role.
- Demonstrated experience operating counterbalance or reach forklifts.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, distribution, manufacturing or similar operational environment.
- Experience with picking, packing, dispatch and stock control processes.
- Experience using inventory, ERP and freight carrier systems.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy when handling stock, packing orders and entering data.
- A sound understanding of safe manual handling, warehouse safety and general WHS requirements.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with team members, supervisors and freight carriers.
- A reliable, flexible and team-oriented approach to work.
- Experience handling dangerous goods is preferred but not essential.
